I tested save states during the spike midboss in Gravity Antonion's stage and it seems to work just fine. okay, one more thing about the graphics I've noticed: Transparency seems to be a bit wonky sometimes.Ĭuriously, the strange shadow things don't seem to show up in Gravity Antonion's stage in the gravity sections? Or maybe it's stopped for a while and I haven't noticed, honestly I turned off the music after a while and turned on my own. Oh, side note: Playing the game from a disc.įor some reason the audio stopped being as glitchy in Dark Mantis's stage.

Loading times seem to be faster than the PS2 version but that's kind of to be expected.įramerate ran oddly low in Earthrock Trilobyte's stage for some reason? In Avalanche Yeti's stage, when respawning at the midboss checkpoint, for some reason the mid-boss was immediately there when I respawned, which was a bit strange, pretty sure it's a glitch. I attempted the Infinite Metals glitch, I don't recall the metals count disappearing like that on actual hardware before picking up a metal to finish the glitch, but the glitch seems to be emulated fine otherwise. Honestly, I mostly skipped the cutscenes after listening to them for a little while, so for all I know those could be a bit broken. From there, I beat the entire game just to confirm that the whole thing would work, barring the true final boss only available on normal mode and above. yeah, I think I'm gonna stop talking about the audio oddities now, the important thing is that it seems to get glitchier and glitchier the longer you run the game.īecause I've never been very good at the game, combined with playing on a keyboard, I decided to bump the difficulty down to easy part-way through the intro stage. That happened consistently on the cutscene before the Gigabolt Man-O-War battle. That happened after setting audio to mono to see if it'd help btw, no idea if it's related or not. The audio in this game really does appear to be a bit strange.

Oh yeah, and Axl sounded highly, well, robotic in one of the cutscenes. notably, the worst of it seemed to start after resetting the game several times. I could've sworn I also heard one of Alia's lines that indicates you can press select for her advice play at a lower pitch than is intended. it seems it might be especially bad here? On the save select screen, the music started sounding like some weird bass boosted thing as well, and didn't stop until I rebooted the emulator, I dunno how better to describe it than that. Occasionally the audio starts lagging really far behind and/or stuttering (sometimes both) for some reason, and I'm not convinced that it's just because the audio emulation is a bit stuttery normally. Memory card support appears to be fully functional! But the yes/no doesn't disappear when it's in the process of loading, which I don't think happened on actual hardware if memory serves correctly. really there's just a lot of really minor graphical glitches, it'd be a bit too hard to list every last one. The results screen has a graphical glitch exclusive to bilinear filtering being forced on, a few strange stripes show up here and there.

Text during cutscenes flickers sometimes for some reason, could potentially only happen when filtering is enabled but I didn't think to check during the cutscene where it was happening. Performance drops considerably while the game loads data during the enemy rush segments, which isn't surprising but I feel is worth noting anyways. Strange graphical glitch where a sort of "shadow" effect appears a bit above and notably below eveerything. Game boots completely fine, can't think of anything else worth noting about the menus, they seemed to work just fine. so I guess "in-game" is the correct tag, then.?) The important thing is that I was able to beat the whole game on easy mode in the emulator but not without some strange glitches. (DISCLAIMER: I probably went into too much detail here.
